For what it's worth, the alleged sender of the email, Garry Fowler, checks out on LinkedIn as general manager of the hotel.

Jury Duty: Nothing to do there but chill and write a TR. Kinda like the beach but missing the view and ocean breeze.

Is it time to take “kosher” out of the title?

Was there in January. Great food! Sorry to see it go. Was too far
I liked having the option to go, even though I only went once. Great food ? Not exactly. I never wanted to post about it because I felt bad for the business but now that it’s closed... The rooms are not good as well. Some cheap fake wood floor which makes noise when you walk on it. Food was pretty horrible for the most part. I think if the food was better they’ll still be open. I personally would have went back multiple times had it been better food.
If someone is thinking of opening this place again make sure there’s good food !

Lincoln has much nicer views, but Bethlehem is only about 15 min further then Lincoln from Brooklyn/lakewood.

Lol
Who cares how far they are from each other ? The point is how far it is from the nyc. It’s not like Lincoln is where it’s all at. There’s better mountains then Lincoln which for skiing and for summer activities.

Wondering now when I went if I still had the old chef.

I've always dreamed of opening a kosher hotel. It's probably never gonna happen, and I don't think it's very possible to be economically viable, but why do u guys think this failed? Has there been other kosher hotels in the ny area lately? What do you think could be done to make it viable?

The only viable way is with a kosher option. Use shutfus or outsource non-osher f&b  and have a kosher restaurant that also dies all the kosher catering.
Granted, this really only works if the restaurant picks up non hotel rev as well which means you need to be near a sizable Jewish community.

IMO it was to far out from NY/NJ
A hotel in PA would be much better location

Definitely agree with this. But do you think people will go to a hotel in the Catskills/Poconos? Does that have any appeal?

The hotel was quite successful for half a century (before the rebuild).

I didn't know it was around for that long. What went wrong?
