Fine I won't come Sunday. Boo you.
Better come early because I'm leaving on Sunday.

I wish. Best I'd be able to do is late Sunday night, so you'd be ditching me again

Lol, I think I'm good on that front but I appreciate the thoughtful efforts.

I had the Impossible Burger at Mocha Bleu and contrary to someone's experience above, it was to put it nicely - disgusting. It did not remotely resemble meat in look, taste or texture. Let's just say I would have taken JJ's raw burger over this any day.

To add insult to injury, they charged $3 (IINM) extra for a slice of cheese (the only reason you buy this in milchig restaurant).

It is no more innovative IMHO than the standard parve soya fare that's popular abroad. I think that all the hype is from vegans who are overly enthusiastic about any meat substitute, not carnivores who prefer a piece of meat, but care limited by kashrus restrictions.

I am not getting my hopes up for the 2.0.

Tell us more about the pickle. What kind was it? Batampte? Israeli in brine? Israeli in vinegar? Gherkin? Or maybe some "kosher pickle"?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

That's disappointing.

The place in Boston makes it pretty well done, so that there's a heavy maillard (how do you spell that) reaction on each side.  Maybe try like that if you didn't?

Tried it well done and tried it medium.
Both were edible, but meh.

To my understanding the 1.0 version is very unforgiving in terms of preparation which is precisely the reason it was not rolled out in retail. 2.0 is a whole different animal. Much better quality, versatility and easier to nail.

Definitely agree on the pricing . However completely disagree on quality . I am the furthest thing from a vegan. In fact I am quite the burger fanatic (my top 2 are currently the Jeff's Western Burger in LA and the Ken's Burger Buddy from Chicago.)

My motivation for trying the impossible burger was entirely to satisfy a lifelong craving of a cheeseburger. And i was very satisfied with my experience . That being said there is definitely a ton of room for improvement relative to real beef, and by all media accounts that was achieved with the 2.0 version.

If you don't know about the WILD western burger, you automatically lose your fanatic card. Sorry :P
