Did you add anything to it (eggs, spices, etc.)?

My wife did whatever she did. I suggested that she season it just like she seasons ground beef for burgers and for Arayes.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Interesting. My experience was a very similar but not exact taste and texture. It was delicious though. My friend who had two of them said he felt nauseous after.

TIL Arayes isn't the same thing as עריות. Had no idea that's what it's called.

Imo beyond is remarkably close enough to the real deal.
Best part for me is that it's available everywhere, making kosher travel much easier.

3 out of 6 of us felt queasy after having beyond burgers.

Served it to a group without telling them what it was. 4 out of 5 thought it was better then the local boxed frozen type burgers.

Anything is better than boxed, frozen burgers.

Not everything. Not the boxed, frozen, turkey burgers.

Just tried the beyond beef.

No seasonings or anything on it, just a small thin burger on a pan (I usually like it well done and thin).

Like others were saying, the only way that it can pass as a burger is if you don't concentrate on what it tastes like and if it's in a bun or something to mask some of its taste.

It doesn't smell like meat. It has a unique smell that I don't think is similar to anything else. I didn't like the way it smelled.

The texture is pretty similar to meat.

The taste is somewhat similar to meat but nothing mind-blowing at all. The taste of the charred parts of the burger overpowered the rest of the burgers taste at times. It had a somewhat smokey taste that didn't taste too natural.

If anything I would say it tastes like smoked fish or something like that.

Ugh it's hard to describe taste :)

I don't think anyone goes into this thinking it'll be exactly like a real burger, but if you thin it, over cook it, & burn it, I'm not sure how you expected anything. Yeah, IMHO it wasn't exactly like a burger but it was the most passable of any imitations.
I'm not who you think I am.

Tonight we had burgers for supper:  chuck or Beyond.  40% of the family chose Beyond.

@Definitions what works for a regular burger won't necessarily work for Beyond.  You're better off with the pre-shaped patties, rather than trying to get the thickness that works best, and its instructions are more relevant to burgers.

Their burgers that they sell are monstrosities.

But I guess it's true I would need to redo it to get a better tasting experience.

Reminds me of the old joke.

A poor peasant comes home one day and decides no matter what, he will have a rich man's feast. He scouted out the rich neighborhood and learned that cheese blintzes is eaten regularly, so he came home and commanded his wife to make cheese blintzes.
"But we don't have sugar," she objected.
"So make it without sugar," he insisted.
"But we don't have cheese," she objected.
"So make it without cheese," he insisted.
"But we don't have butter," she objected.
"So make it without butter," he insisted.
"But we don't have eggs," she objected.
"So make it without eggs" he insisted.
When the dish is complete, she presents it to him, and he takes a small bite before spitting it out in disgust.
"Uch! Well, you see, we're not missing anything by being poor!"

Follow up:  the following week it was chuck or Impossible.  The same people chose veggie, all preferring the Beyond.  One person thought the Impossible tasted more like meat, and that's why they didn't like it.

Just made it again on a grill using their ready made patties. Was on a bun with ketchup. As far as I remember it was better this time. Had some crunchy bits and a slightly over smoked taste but the taste overall was pretty similar to a regular burger.

I think Beyond reformulated their recipe recently, their packaging has “NEW MEATIER TASTE” on it.
