$6500 in United Airline travel credit
« on: January 08, 2019, 03:02:37 PM »
Due to a recent severe United mishap, we received $6500 in travel vouchers.. basically wondering how to get the absolute best bang for my buck- where to look for deals on united.com, when to book.. ideas of where to go etc.
Thanks!

Wow, that's a lot of credit. What happened?
Maybe ask for miles instead?

You can sell it. I would possibly buy off you.
PM if you want to discuss.

Don't they usually give less value of miles than what they give in vouchers, judging from the $1000 United voucher, or 30k miles instead of Israeli law Compensation offers?

Not such an exciting story. Four of us were traveling from ewr to a small domestic city. We had just arrived in EWR from tlv  and they had given our seats away. She offered me 1500 per person for the flights (there were four of us) and $500 to make up for extra inconvenience.

In addition to the compensation, did you receive a refund of your original form of payment? Rebooking to your final destination?

Got rebooked. Didn't bother asking for a refund bc I was so happy to get travel vouchers.
