You could try status matching to star alliance or sky team, or get some benefits if you fly BA/AA to Israel via London.

Don't know about all the star alliance partners, but it won't work for united. They ask for proof of status showing expiration of status. If they see it's only 3 months status, they know it was not earned, and they will deny the challenge. They only match to earned status

OK so at the moment I am booked to TLV for next week AA/BA stopover in LHR. So far I have been able to nab MCE seats due to status. Let's see if anything else comes out of this. My understanding is that I get AA lounge Access (besides for my AMEX plat, and PP access which I already have).

The flight was booked using UR via BA. Does anyone know if baggage allowance will change at all?

More than I expected from AA

we want to help you reach your goal
We want to help you reach your goal
We understand COVID-19 may have made it difficult for you to complete your elite challenge and we'd like to offer you another opportunity to earn elite status.

When you're ready to travel again, you may register for a new 3-month elite challenge that reflects lower qualification thresholds.

You may register and begin your challenge any time between now and November 1, 2020. Your challenge begins the day you register so we recommend waiting to register until you're ready to travel.

We appreciate your loyalty and look forward to welcoming you onboard soon.

You are why we fly.
