Spirit charges for things most other airlines give for free. For example: a drink on the plane.I did not directly address customer service. The point was that they don't give ANYTHING for free, not even a better seat when it's not being used.
But are we really having a discussion about this topic?

1) Spirit doesn't charge for "things most other airlines give for free" because airlines don't give anything for free.
When you fly Delta, you HAVE to pay for your 6 ounce diet coke pretzels, your cabin bag, seat selection your seat in your airfare. It's not free.
When you fly spirit, you can choose not to pay and therefore not receive.
2)Delta, American, and JetBlue don't allow passengers to take a better seat when open. I know this because I've been denied a better seat by them all recently.
Spirit on the other hand:
I didn't "manage" to get an exit row. I asked nicely once on board.
And this wasn't the first time Spirit has reseated me when I requested.
