Re: the FA, about 45 minutes before announcing the reboarding, I heard the crew saying they're waiting for a new FA and then they can leave. Not sure why the FA stayed around, perhaps they were trying to convince him to cool down and they couldn't leave without a full crew.

And no, despite what Spirit claims the parents were not warned about wearing a mask during the entire duration of the incident, at least since they boarded.

"Spirit told Insider the airline directed the family to exit because the parents were not complying with mask mandates, which the company said was not captured on video and came before the viral video was filmed."

"Spirit told Insider it was standard protocol in the airline industry to de-board the entire plane if there was an incident with a passenger. The company also said the couple initially refused to leave, which is why Spirit forced all the passengers off the plane. If the family had agreed to deplane, the rest of the passengers would have remained on board, according to Spirit."

You need a wide angle and great sound quality, also your using ur phone at times.... battery.

Its a personal decision but if someone smells something might happen just start recording.

As always, a well written article.

I was on a UA flight this winter where a 613 was escorted off by police upon landing, the resolution wasn't that complicated, as it seems, FA's in more established and better paying airlines have reasons not to look for fights.

Basically this guys kids were on and off with their mask and he was in the bathroom during landing, up until about touchdown [not his fault, due to announcement timing].

Ultimately there were a few Jewish families on board that made it clear to the police and to UA station supervisor that the FA was the one making a big deal about nothing and the police laughed it all off and told him they will write a report favorable to him [this was in EGE].

On a flight this CH a FA handed what looked like to be knapkins with a printed warning about compliance to 2 passengers in a quiet manner, they just dropped it on their tray table.

The real issue is this ridiculous policy of masking 2 year old kids. AFAIK the US is the only country in the world with such an insane policy.
All other countries vary between 5-12.

Flew spirit today out of FLL no issues at all with 3 children one of them right over two, who did not wear a mask the entire time, not in the airport nor upon plane boarding. The FA’s were all super friendly and courteous. They told my 6 year old once to make sure he wears his mask but that’s it. Great experience over all. It’s who (which FA’s) is on the plane that matters.

Every single airline has these stories. When I flew southwest they couldn't have been more friendly. I have pictures of my four year old in the cockpit with his mask barely over his mouth. Delta turned a blind eye as well, even as they asked multiple adults near us to cover their nose and mouth.

Flew WN many times no issue. The key with 2 YO is to not have them wear a mask from the get go, no one questions a toddler.
