IDK why the mint is doing it.

I made sure I had enough credit and they put the charge through again. So now I have 2 pending charges. They did not guarantee anything.

Took me a day to realize but I think we can come to a conclusion that nobody is offering $700, $800, $900 even $1,000 profit for the set of 4. If you're willing to post such an asking price please post it when the coins are holding at the value. This post is just to save everyone's time, I was one of you 4 hours ago.

I'm not offering to take the lead here, but maybe the move is for the sellers to come together and offer a large package to a dealer or collector. As I understand, large dealers or collectors aren't interested in spending their time buying individual items, but will pay more for volume.

Effectively PFS but with the profits distributed to the peoples instead of to PFS.

In all seriousness that would require someone to devote much time effort and some risk to deal with the logistics. Not likely to happen, but interesting idea.

I would think once you have someone else taking the risk and taking the time, they will want the profits.
