Jury Duty: A time with nothing to do but chill and write a TR. Kinda like the beach without a view and an ocean breeze.

Can there be a poll for:

How many of the people that are trying to sell now for $300+ already "committed" to a buying group for less?
Once the game is over, the king and the pawn go back in the same box.

And are the buying groups prepared to match those offers, after all the buyer is the one who took the financial risk, the buying group should be fine with him maximizing his investment, no?

This isn't directed at you, just figured I would bring this up on the back of what you said.

I would be really careful with this. Once you commit you are agreeing that you will not shop around after the fact.

The buying group also takes the risk that the price will plummet after the sale (yet they will still pay you what they promised).

Last year I committed to one of the big coin resellers (not a jewish group) - I backed out after I ordered since the price skyrocketed. They actually sent me a letter of intent to sue me for the financial damage I had caused them. I'm not sure what legal basis or rights they would have, I ended up settling with them for a lower amount.

I hear you and I am not sure what the moral obligations are of "committing" to a buying group. That being said, I don't have much experience with this and I don't know about your case, but at least IME you are not asked to sign anything with any kind of legally binding agreement, so I cannot imagine what basis they could possibly have for suing you. In addition, in a case in which the price goes up (which is the only circumstance in which one would even want to back out) they are obviously making more than they expected since the demand is clearly higher, so you are not actually causing them a loss. And I would imagine that they have many more people than they think they can actually sell in number of coins that they "opt in" for people, as they take into account that many people will not successfully purchase the coin, so it's not even like they can say that your optin prevented someone else from the spot. Again I don't have a lot of experience with this type of thing, just my thoughts.

Exactly the opposite, they should not need to. You gave your word and agreed to a price you were happy with. Take your money and move on, don't sell your integrity for a couple hundred bucks.

(or do, it's your choice ultimately)

The buyer can return the coins to the MINT. So his only loss is the shipping costs.
