Listen, I applaud the effort, but ain't no way I'd entrust my sets with a guy from a forum without dozens of references who is going to be driving a half million dollars in coins to a diff state in a private car to an unnamed buyer through an unnamed broker. There are about a dozen things that could go wrong, not including any of the dishonest ones.

Like I said, kudos for the effort, but the deal should involve insured shipping and complete transparency. (I already unloaded my sets so have skin in the game.)

 I would trust him, if he can pull together one or two long time or active members to vouch for him. Not two people with each a few posts, let alone i never knew they existed.

  Don't mean to throw away the deal, but a little more info is needed here.

 I'll Glady settle for $475 and ship at my own paste to a reliable dealer. While I would love 585, but 20k to hand over in coins to a stranger is not really ganna work.

I would hate for this deal to die, but I agree with @AJK, and I imagine that many others will as well.

Is there any way for you bring payment to the drop-off sites? If you are comfortable carrying the coins, then the cash shouldn't be much different. And I think that it's more reasonable for the broker to trust you since you already know each other presumably, than for dozens of DDF users to trust everyone in the chain, whom they've never met.

I understand everyone's hesitation. Id be happy to take any phonecalls for any questions.. If I can get a guarantee by the broker to buy x amount of sets for x amount of dollars , then I will pay cash upfront. Unfortunately, I dont have the resources to do this for more than 10 coin sets.

Additionally, if you can make me into a trusted member I would love to learn how. I think we can all benefit from having a DDF bulk sale. Out of curiosity, would people feel more inclined to join the deal if I had a long time member travel with me? Any takers?

It seems like I'm running short on sets (bunch of cancellations), so I'll offer an alternative for those that bought sets and have not agreed to sell it anywhere.

If people feel more comfortable insuring their coin, having it shipped to me, and all of this being done by Thursday, then I'm all for it.

We called up every single coin dealer in 6 states and took all their bids. We found 1 that is willing to offer us 5K per set which is more than pinehurst and PFS deals. They want a large quantity being sold to them. Since the price is very volatile we need to get the coins to him by Thursday to get this high price.

The only way this deal will happen is with trust. If one of the DDF forum members would like to accompany us and be the mashgiach, or even spot the funds to pay people up front then by all means lets do that. We are even open to having a live stream throughout the whole journey with GPS tracking.

We found an opportunity where we can all make money and we dont want too lose this chance.

We are more than happy to hear other suggestions to make this seem more kosher, but at the end of the day we are going to have to rely on each others trust.

As stated above if you would like to talk to us we can privately share our personal community contacts, with Rabbis, and pillars of the community to vouch on our behalf. However as you can understand we don't want to post all of our sensitive personal information online

One way I could potentially see this working out is having a very trusted community member hold a nice sum from the buyer in escrow until all payments are satisfied. I believe that Dan did this for one of the early PFS deals. Of course, who ever is doing that would want (and deserve) a piece of the action.

I love how you say that you called every dealer and there's only one paying 5k. As I posted previously, I am willing to pay 5k for the set as per my buyers pricing. He is very reliable and has plenty of references. He is also willing to pay best price for half oz. Hes also providing insured labels for shipping. Pm me for more details.

You're going to need your dealer to up the price. Doubt anyone is going to take a risk when there are members here offering close to the same amount, with an insured label.

I agree with this. But at the same time, there has to be a better system, or the local buyers will just continue increasing their prices to be near the offer which @Moshe_N secures, and that's not fair to him and his work.

While I understand the desire by the local buyers to pay as little as possible, what they are doing seems a little unscrupulous to me.
