Windbreaker / rain coat
« on: January 27, 2019, 08:23:19 PM »
Hey all,
I'm looking for a good deal on a high quality windbreaker / raincoat,

If possible something that also includes an attachment that serves as a warming part. Thanks

A friend mentioned landsend squal system. Is this good? It's expensive!

I would check outerwear sites such as Moosejaw.com or backcountry.com. Sierra is not bad but sometimes you may get seconds or irregulars.

I just bought a North Face windbreaker/waterproof jacket from Sunny Sports for $70, but it's not insulated. I would say that there are a lot of choices for all price ranges. I don't suggest Macy's because the quality of their stuff isn't good for their prices.

Squall is very good, my warmest coat is squall, as are a few of my kids. I also have some other coat from Lands End that sounds like exactly what you're looking for (outer rainproof windbreaker with removable inner light down jacket), but I don't know the name and I don't think they sell it anymore.
