I always wondered who likes pieces of fruit or veggies baked into their sourdough. I know Lechem has it also. I find it extremely off-putting, to cut bread and have streaks of olives or garlic cloves getting caught on the knife.
But I guess people like it, because otherwise they would stop making it. Oh, they DID stop making it...
It so happens that I don't particularly like "breads with fruit or veggies." (Besides, veggies in bread are completely different from fruits in bread, but okay.) Also, I generally cannot stand — or to put it stronger, I actually
hate olives. UGH...
I found myself somewhere, and what they had was "Patis's Kalamata olive sourdough." I figured I'd give it a try, and surprisingly, I really liked it, even though I can't stand olives.
Also, the Patis in Brooklyn still makes the kalamata olive sourdough... I even picked one up today.
