Charged for gas at Alamo

I returned a rental car to Alamo a few weeks ago and today received a letter that I was being charged over 100 dollars for gas.  I filled up shortly before I returned it, but did not save the receipt.  I can show the gas charge on my Costco card on the way to the airport. Has anyone dealt with this before? I’m going to call them tomorrow morning. I’d like to be as prepared as possible.

I think the credit card charge is good enough, also I know that this is not easy, but call the gas station you filled at and request to email you the receipt, which will show the exact time and date etc. Happened to me years ago in Orange County , CA, I called the station and they emailed me the receipt.

called chase and they gave me a  courtesy credit.

Thank you for your help. I called this morning.  The customer service person said that since it is within 25 days, I need to take it up directly with the Alamo I rented from.  I called them up and they voided the charge without making me send them receipts or credit card statements. BH.  Now I just need to follow up in the next few days to make sure my balance is really 0.
