Weak promo+No FFN in 2011=No Diamond requal for me based on stays, a first since 2008.
But I did actually get SPG Plat via stays this year due to FRN.

Grand Slam seems like a ton of work and keeping track of stuff and hoping that everything posts as it should but proably won't just to save a few bucks off the ~1.4 cpm rate you can buy them at today with no hassle at all.

Anyway do you get this bonus if you credit the stay to US?

That being said, last year ppl did it at under .3 cents per point, so more than a few bucks. No idea about the last Q

For those who actually travel, its a no brainer.
You credit your hotel and car rentals to US, then buy a few shmontzes online for a couple bucks, transfer a few hotel points over and you you have a free business class ticket.

That's if US doesn't shut your account

anyone that got it that cheap was having their hotel stays and car rentals picked up by someone elses tab. they also didn't factor in the lost money by the horrible hotel transfer ratios. if you were paying yourself it came out to at least .7 prob more. also this year they changed the rules big time. minimum transfer ratios. and the biggest of all, no cancelling subscriptions for at least 6 months after the promo is over!!! you believe that crap?? i thought it was unbelievable they had the gall to put that in. anyway, it's gonna cost quite a bit more this year. last year i took down 100k X2 this year i'm not gonna bother.

Soooooo not true. Nothing was written off as would have been spent anyway, and including point transfers it cost me $441.55 plus 10k PC and 5k Hyatt I got a total of 120,604 (20k+ from the "base points" of the offers), 6k of them PQM. Value of 10k PC is $60, Hyatt @ 1.4 is $70 Total value $611.55 Comes out to Just over .05. If I would have been in the US I probably could have done it for $100 less.

Yup- dont care to argue with those who think GS is worthless...Did pretty well last year. Too lazy to find last years spreadsheet and see what it ended up costing me.

But i did stay in a Hyatt last night, and the promo says it starts 9/15...is that check "in" on the 15th or check "out" on the 15th?

The terms seem to imply you must be registered first, but YMMV on it happening automatically.
If you push the issue with CS you should be OK.

Milage runs or you actually paid for vacations? Usually your vacations are in high class hotels that you wouldn't pay cash for.... so is it worth a milage run of 75 nights just for the status?
