He just got the letter yesterday. I told him about the offer the day it was posted. I'll find out when he actually applied though.
sounds like its worth it for the $500-$1000
is it .02 just for flights? other travel, A+ style?

Yes AFAIK your best value is using them for flights in the US and Canada that are under $500  = 25K points. That's what I save them for.

For everything else you're getting value at a cent a point I believe. You can cash out, or use for hotel, car etc.

well for those of us who rarely fly, cashing out at .01 still isnt bad for a signup bonus and no fee

Are you booking the flights through their system or do you apply the points as a credit against a charge that posts to your account?

If you book the flight through their system - are the points applied per passenger or by itinerary? If I book two passengers on the same itinerary with RT cost of $250 per person, $500 total would that be eligible for the full 2% redemption?

Book through their app or on the phone. Per ticket it would be 25k as long as flights were under $500.  I think it may be 30k if close to? I can't remember exactly.
And of course flights earn miles as well.

That's annoying that it's per person. I guess this is best for business/first class redemption, as most economy class redemptions are well below $500, even cross country.

-1 I've used this on last minute tickets to San Diego, and tickets to Vancouver which are close to $500 consistently. They have their time and place IMHO.

Obviously depends on your travel habits. Seems like there are limited options to get full value for these points.

I don't think I even answered the question about my relationship with ML and got approved without calling. They don't seem to care at all.

How long did it take for people to actually get the card in the mail?
