It is still more Tzedakah than insurance, I pay roughly $35/month for 1M in coverage.

And also, areivim isn’t a Gmach of any sort. It’s a great thing but not a Gmach. My life insurance is at $22 a month.
Unfortunately, there are people that can’t afford that $28 a month. These are the people that would benefit from this Gmach

I agree that tzedaka is probably one of the best things to do with one's money.

That being said, it doesn't negate the prudence and need to financially plan for the future (though we know that א מענטש טראכט און ג-ט לאכט, and we can't plan anything with certainty). If you go to sleep every day with $0, and don't ever save or plan for the future, then you can argue that this is the way you choose to show your בטחון. There are יחידי סגולה that can live that way. But if you engage in any type of saving or planning for financial future, then it's just a matter of choosing to ignore the way life insurance works, rather than a principle based on בטחון.

Not at all. You have to have paid bituach leumi for entitlement, and you are buried in the city of your residence. In Jlem you get a spot in the multi story spots at Har Hamenuchos.

Most Israeli chareidim pay for better.
