Is there any value in Chiropractors?

My sister in law swears by a chiropractor in BP for a bunch of random ailments unrelated to back muscles.

Approx 8 years ago I went to some chiropractor in BP (same one?) for a few months after having really bad ear pain (found out it came from my jaw [which is connected to the ears, and no, it's not TMJ] after chewing extra chewy or crunchy things...) Anyway, I went to him many many times over many months, it helped tremendously. It relieved the tension in my ears (which caused the pain) immensely.

Today's day I already know which type of foods not too eat... (Never Gum!) And when I do get pain (not often BH) I'll pop a Tylenol if it's really bad and do some of those pinches and massaging on my ears which the chiropractor did and it'll be fine for a while BH.  So for this, Yes, I can do what he did by myself... Though he did it much better...

I go to chiro and it helps for a while. Then I have to go back and repeat. I think it helps.
I took my wife to the same person and she claims that not only it didn't help but made it worse.
Go figure. At least we have another issue that we can disagree on.

It works for some people and doesn't work for others, the industry is flooded with people trying to squeeze your money out of you.

Definitely look out for someone who is setting you up to not need them vs trying to keep you coming back.

+1 on a chiropractor in BP. Maybe the same one? Full disc-closure: My father worked with him for 15 years before he became a chiropractor, so I am pre-noteh to trust him and think that he works.

I am not doubting that chiropractors could help with back and other joint pain. I am questioning the value.

Could it provide immediate relief? Definitely!

But when thinking about actual healing and long-term help, I seriously think there might be no real value, especially when compared to the benefits of PT.

You may not be wrong. I wouldn't know one way or the other. But where many in the business appear to be fraudsters, just saying that I have doubts that all are. (Not saying you said that.)
