Received Amazon Stuff that I didn’t order

Hi just received an Amazon box containing two items I didn’t order. The shipping label had my name and address? Anyone aware of why this might happen? What should I do?

Yeah there was some kind of scam at one point with people sending stuff to random addresses.

I received some packages from best buy which i never ordered but realized that my order was sent to someone else and i got his order, so make sure you didn't order something from amazon and now your order was accidentally swapped?

I’ve had it this year. I got Chinese crap sent to me 3 days in a row. I called Amazon and told them what was happening, and they were completely clueless about brushing. Best part is that Amazon boxes and labels don’t have any numbers or information that can help them find which order it came from or from which seller. But it stopped after that.

If you’ve ever bought from a Chinese seller on Amazon or AliExpress then don’t be surprised that your data was packaged and sold to other Chinese sellers to send you crap so they can write fake reviews using fresh names and addresses.

yes i saw on Reddit that it happened to someone after they ordered on aliexpress , and I just did too so...

i know it’s not that because In the Send to address, there’s added numbers before my name , plus I hadn’t ordered anything from amazon

I don't see what the big deal is about getting free crap. Either keep it or throw it out, but there's no safety concern.

its a little unnerving to have ur info sold to strangers in another country, using it to do illegal activities. Who knows what else their doing...

Open Google maps.  reduce so you can see the entire country. put your cursor on any spot.  Now zoom in. Move your cursor off the national parks near a crossroads. Keep zooming.  move your cursor to to a populated area that has lines of crossstreets.  zoom all the way.  click on any house. An address will appear.
Copy the address and Google it. With minimum work, you can find out who lives there.
Voila! You now have a name and address. 
Not so strange that someone has your public information.

Would you understand the problem better if one of your neighbors droppped their trash bags in your kitchen? Because that’s what this is. Literal crap where you need to open the box, dispose the garbage, and then cut up the box. And then this happens every single day.

They aren’t. The packages I got used a name and address combo that was unique to my amazon orders. And it wasn’t to my home address either.

(Not gonna say if that happened to me on a $17 bag on non-returnable, [thankfully kosher] bag of chocolate)
