HOW CAN WE GET THEM TO STOP?
They oversell almost every flight. Since most of us here fly mileage tickets which they bump first, I'm sure there are many other victims around here.
Here's the deal, we know airlines overbook all the time for many reasons, still, most airlines don't oversell business class. Even if and when they do, they ALL compensate for it.
Elal on the other hand besides regularly overbooking biz class, they don't even bother compensating, and to make things worse, they don't even bother asking other pax to volunteer.
My 75 year old grandmother was checked in with a seat assignment yesterday on LY27, when she got to the check in counter she was told she is bumped to economy. She had a Z class double miles award ticket, I guess she was first on the list because of that, so I quickly issued her a new Z class revenue ticket for $3300. In this case there were a dozen other people issued in the cheaper J class bucket who should've been bumped before her. Still no dice. The agent was rude and offered no compensation. He said she can get back difference in fare. Nice of her....
What you guys think? Is this fair from elal? Any compensation required by law?
