I would take window and aisle in a row of 3 close to the back of the plane and hope that the middle seat stays empty

I’d take middle aisle and middle because one of you still risks sitting next to someone and that someone will go out through the other side if they need to get up. You can also wait towards the end of boarding and ask if they can change you to a free row.

I would take the aisle and middle of the row of 4. this way there’s no one climbing over you and you don’t have to bother anyone else when you wanna get to the aisle.

I'd choose one of these.

Is this within 24hr of flight or are you paying to select seats?
Looks like it's LX

If you're not within the 24hr, pay no attention to the empty seats plenty of people don't pay for their seats in advance.

It was worth sitting in the front, we where delayed and thankfully didn’t have to wait for everyone sitting behind us...
