I didn’t notice the seller reviews. Product reviews are obviously seller generated. But as you said, $2.80 isn’t a huge amount at risk for this (unless it could somehow damage products connected to it, which I doubt with USB charging ports being so ubiquitous).

Would have loved to get one for $2.80 but I'm sure you can find the same thing on Alibaba or ebay.
 Not to confuse it's not a transformer is just a outlet adapter to change your plug into whatever currency(pun intended) you're using.
