Had the same thing, it takes two weeks for the check to clear and the account is frozen meanwhile. Don't deposit checks.
Yup. Couldn't even access my Citi credit cards since it was all under one login. Had to mail a payment instead of doing it electronically.

Fine print:

Targeted as well for aa miles. Seems to me that I would end up paying $150 for the 50k points.

My cheshban —— $30 monthly service fee (if avg balance is less than $50k) x 5 months = $150

Of the 5 months above: 2 came from the required “qualifying bill payments” and 3 is from the 90 days it takes for bonus miles to be credited to actual account.

Please correct me if I’m wrong, as I would like to do this offer.

How long did it take for your bonus to post? A full 90 days after meeting requirements?

Open Citi Gold with no fees, after 2-3 months they'll downgrade you.

Keep in mind banking TY points are not transferable to airlines. If you have a Prestige & premier card you can redeem @ 1.25 for flights, or cash out at 1cpp

Also, check your citi online account. I see a targeted offer for 60k aadvantage miles, if you rather take that

how not get downgraded from citigold before 60k miles gets posted?

assuming not carrying a $50k balance, how not get charged fees for citi priority?

for me 1-2 billing cycles after meeting the requirements
If it benefits even just one fellow DDFer, its worth posting it.

TY points from this offer are not transferable to Airlines. Only good for 1.25 travel bookings or GCs

how strict is Citi when counting 60 days from acct opening for bonus offers?

I signed up for the Citigold 60K offer (acct opened on Nov 1) which required "1 or more qualifying bill payments for 2 consecutive months within 60 days after acct opening". However I forgot to do this in November and day 60 is Dec 31.

did I miss out on this offer or can it still be salvaged?

chat with them. I think they can extend it. Always have scheduled the bill payment on the last day of the first month and first day of the next month as soon as deposit funds were in the account.

I meant to set up bill payments but forgot all about this offer.

U think chatting now will help or better wait till jan 1st (day 61) when I will do my 2nd bill payment and hope for the best.

Why not chat/call now? it can't hurt.

Just got my second AA 50k offer in the last few months. $750 in debit purchases and one bill payment for 2 consecutive calendar months. It can be used for 60k Citigold account too with $1k debit purchases. The only restriction is maximum of 120k AA every 365 days. So this can be done on a rolling basis twice a year. Not too bad.

I wonder how this will affect AA account shutdowns though, that's why I haven't pulled the trigger yet.

T&C says 120k every 365 days. How could it affect?

Just got an offer in the mail to open a checking, and because I have a citi card, I will earn an extra 25% TYP until 4/2021. In addition, I'll get 40k TYP if I deposit and maintain a 10 or 15k balance. Any reason not to do this for $25 a month?

I've had such a hard time using my Bank TYP lately. The prices on Citi travel portal are always messed up and higher than Google or any other OTA. the 40k are really only good if you dont care to overpay for travel. not really worth 1.25. Also, was looking for hotel in Jerusalem and it showed me 50 results more than half in Palestinian territories. None of the good hotels.

Don't care for the 40k, and probably won't bother tying up 10k for that long for it. What I want is the 25% TYP bonus for the next year and a half.
