At Car Rental Now-Which Card?
« on: March 08, 2019, 08:21:13 AM »
I have Ink, SPG, and Arrival+ with me.
Which gives best coverage (including primary insurance)?

Do any compare to Sapphire Preferred?
Thanks for quick response.

SPG with paying for Amex Premium Protection is the best you'll get.

Also depends on length of rental.  Visa cards like say the Sapphire only cover for up to ~15 days.  Base amex protection is 31 days, amex premium protection is 42 days

Wow. Seems to be conclusive. How is SPG premium better than Sapphire Preferred other than 42 days instead of 31?  SPG told me they are secondary insurance. Do I infer that SPG premium gives primary insurance?

Are you renting in the US or out of country?

Yes.
Besides for being the best to deal with, their limit of how much they cover don't go by MSRP. For example with Chase a 75k cap means if the MSRP is over 75k, you get 0. But with Amex Premium you are coveted up to 75k in damages regardless of the car value.
