Netanyahu the genius is already reaping the fruit of his smoking-out campaign. Bennet is the first politician to publicly agree to renege on his campaign commitment not to form a government that depends on Arab support or with a Lapid as a PM in any constellation (even signed a paper on TV to affirm).

The problem is now he knows he will loose votes not election. Making it much more likely Lapid will get him to join his government.

Major drama in the cabinet meeting now, they voted to nominate Akonis from the Likud as Justice Minister and the legal counsel invalidated the vote:

Halachically, I have no idea. Politically, they do support antagonizing Arabs to some extent or another.

Mansour Abbas's (UAL) stated potential willingness to join Bibbi's bloc and carry it over the line to 61/63 is exposing a noteworthy ideological delta in Bibbi's camp, on one side Charedim who see the Jewish state (at best) as an instrument of Jewish safety and religious prosperity, with RCK openly stating pro-religion Arabs are a better governing ally than atheist Jews, while on the other hand the religious zionist Mizrachi (Smotrich/R Drukman) see Jewish sovereignty of Israel as a lofty ideal worthy of sacrificing Jewish safety & religious sanctity, so the idea of being governed by Arabs is abhorrent beyond consideration.

In the middle, Bibbi himself has his lips sealed and hasn't said anything about it since the elections, and the Chassidim question the tactical & strategic superiority more than the ideological debate. Public opinion polls are showing the difference is on the individual voter level, not only the leadership.

This is a lengthy subject. Here are some of the issues I know of.
We do not know where the Bais hamikdash was, and we are considered as having tumas mais. Also for woman if you allow people to go then woman in a state of nida may also go.
This is just what I know off hand. I never delved into this subject so I am sure there is a lot more to this.

Great example of something that is a big discussion but isn't being discussed due to certain parties making it taboo and "אסור" (recuring theme it seems). I wanted to try go a few times as there must be some are of the mount (accessibility aside) that's definitely NOT part of the "restricted" area but I couldn't find any mesudar guide.

The fact that there must be an area that isn't forbidden doesn't mean somebody knows definitively where it is.

Also, it's bad risk:reward since nothing is accomplished by going there (unless you're a frantic like Ben Gver who believes you're exercising Jewish sovereignty and bringing Moshiach closer - or even making the geula materialize without Moshiach)

The biggest surprise to me is that the pragmatic Rav Drukman ruled against sitting with non-Jews even though Rav Tao who is far more radical wanted to go with them, and R’ Eliyhau and R’ Aviner concurred
