I'm super interested how an election would/will go with Bibi out of the picture. I don't think this government is at all a good thing but I doubt it will last long. Yes it will be setting potentially disastrous precedents and other negative things in motion. There is no denying that Bibi, although IMO being by far the best guy for the job, is an obstacle to a functional government. You can blame the media, you can blame the whoever you want, but right now it's a stalemate. It's interesting that people think Bibi would win direct elections. Just because there wouldnt be a majority for someone else doesn't mean that there isn't a majority against him. I think that's what the results of the last few elections show. There was always going to be a day after. And whoever goes next even in the very best case will be mediocre. Bennet might have done ok if he had the patience and a little integrity. Now it's really looking bleak.

If we were talking about a half normal electorate, Bennet would have been considered a person who did everything to dig his own political grave. But I wouldn't put anything past Israeli voters.
