To me it seems pretty simple although I don't think I'm smarter then the authorities in about 40 countries.
The plane was considered airworthy before it was put into service, then there was an accident and as a result the FAA put in guidelines for updated software with a timeframe for Boeing to implement it.

Which additional evidence has been added to the situation as reason to ground the planes? Other then people's emotions going loose and being nervous, there hasn't been a single solid indication that this latest accident is related to the airworthiness of the aircraft.

You are reminding me of AF447 - also pilots from a first world society and they didn't override the A/P
actually the A/P disengaged automatically due to invalid data

Europe wants Boeing to fail. Airbus is a very important part of their industry. That’s why.

Lol, where did I offer money?

Interesting that this took an executive order and wasn't initiated by the FAA.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

My sympathies to everyone affected but I can't wait for the movie on this in 5 years or so.

This is literally a plot happening in real time, can you imagine what's doing in the boeing conference room literally as we speak?

Cue the suspenseful music.

And the plot thickens...

Any reasoning and explanation as to why exactly this plane was grounded in the US?
Maybe I just don't get it.

Airbus is a strong competitor to BA,I think it was China who first announced this, then the UK followed by Europe and now the US, but in this case it is a good decision to ground the 737 Max till they have more info.
