Hearing reports that AC isn't covering hotels or anything else for those stranded by cancelled 737 Max flights. Are any airlines, or is this all outside of what they have to cover?

I’m actually happy about it.. we fly on these things everyday, I don’t mind Boeing being under the highest level of scrutiny.. I’ll save my patriotism for July 4.

Stock shrugs
The only risk still out there is that this temporary ban will turn into a permanent ban, which is a very small risk, which is probably why the stock is unchanged on the news today.

I can say the same argument in reverse.

We have to know that pilots around the world are trained well, and not have an investigation that's biased against Boeing.

Both fair points.
I guess a fair investigation would cut it.

Agree, US pilots appear to be better trained, more professional, older, and with more flight hours, but all reports indicate that Boeing neglected safety precautions to get the Max approved and up in the air, including avoiding to retrain pilots -even US pilots- on how to deal with the Max 8-9 specific issues that brought these aircrafts down..  even good pilots are only as good as the equipment they’re handed..

Thanks for posting. I think Boeing made/is making a PR mistake by not being ahead of all this, suggesting grounding, rather than waiting for regulators.
Now Boeing is trying to fix things by botching it more, taking credit for the grounding of the planes.

Yeah, it's pretty comical. The minute the US issues the order they come out with the statement. Are you kidding me?

I guess it’s the difference between being in a competitive market to one of a duopoly (with heavy outside influences, such as political considerations).
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Yet, as far as I can tell, the NY Times has not run a single story on this that has not been authored by either Reuters or the AP. This is incredibly disturbing, as it strongly suggests a primary interest in body count and sensationalism, as opposed to genuine public interest.

Shock!
