im having a hard time figuring out what will be the best way to get from venice to sorrento we are in venice form thursday night till probably monday then going to sorrento till thursday and then going from sorrento to rome on thursday. anyone with experience with either the trains or flying from venice to naples and then getting from naples to sorrento

i made a flight from venice to naples for my parents... it didnt cost much at all i did it via kayak.com the flight lands at about 8:30 pm and i put them up in the crown plaza in sorrento- it seems pretty nice there actually...

and im also tryin to figure out rome... looking for a hotel near a shul for shabbos- i have PC points so i can stay in the intercontinental- just not sure where that is in regard to a shul for shabbos.. did u figure out yet what ur plans are there?

looking for some help im trying to figure out how to get from venice to sorrento. It seems like i have 3 options
1. fly from venice to naples and then take an hour and a half bus to sorrento
2. take a train from venice to naples most likely with a train change in rome and then take another train from naples to sorrento
3. rent a car and drive from venice to naples

im having a hard time figuring out how to book a train if i choose that. Im kind of leaning towards renting a car if there is a way to rent an automatic car from venice to either sorrento or rome for 4 or 5 days for someone who is less than 25 for not to outrageous of a price. if anyon wants to give me some advice or help I am all ears

ps going from venice to sorrento monday july 2nd and then from sorrento to rome thursday july 5th

im thinking maybe of taking sorrento out its really a hassle to get there and im not sure if its worth it so i am looking for opinions of what people advise we r landing in venice thurday night june 28th and leaving from rome july9th anyone with opinions on possible italy itineraries for those dates

Those dates are set? Can you say fly into Milan wedsneday night and spend thursday in Lake Area and then leave Rome July 8th? Don't know everything about Italy but FWIU not much to do in between Venice and Rome other than Florence (and Pisa, for a second) which is pretty much what your limited to with your current dates.

i already have flights booked could possibly change from where but date to italy is kind of set due to other things. but what about going from venice to milan for one day then from milan to florence for one day then to rome or something like that? or is that way to much travelling

Too much traveling. Nothing to do in Milan anyways. Was more recommending a resort town on lake Como called bellagio.

if limited to Venice Florence Rome I would do Venice 3 days including shabbos max. Florence for a day. Rome 3 days plus shabbos. But by that count you have almost 2 extra days.

I recommend checking out Villa D’Este outside of Rome for an hour or two. Stunning gardens and fountains

i am going to israel for a week after so i can go to israel for longer but not sure

There's a place called cinque e terre which means 5 lands in Italian. I personally hiked through all five towns it takes about 5 hours and its very nice for those that enjoy hiking. If you have time there are beautiful hikes in the Dolomite mountains. There are 3 major lakes in Italy the closest to venice would be Lago di Garda, and if your heading towards Milan you could go to Lago di como which has nice islands. Rome has a nice Jewish quarter with kosher restaurants, a beautiful shul and the Vatican of course. Flourince doesn't have anything Kosher but there's a very nice shul. Pisa is a waist of time. Venice is must Kosher pizza, meat restaurant, museums, and the canals; I would bargain for a nice gondola ride. Let me know if there's something your looking for that I missed. I wouldn't go to far if I didn't have the time it simply doesn't pay. Btw there is skiing in Zermat, Switzerland in the summer;)

so it looks like i may have to scrap this whole trip due to something that came up during the first week of the trip. I can still take a vacation for 3-4 weeks but starting a week later. I dont think there is anyway I will be able to find all the flights I need+get spg to open up all the cash and points nights+get the PHP to open up basic rooms the nights I would need. SOOOOO..... I am looking for ideas for other good summer trips any and all opinions welcome
