I tell my wife there is no concept in halacha of "cleaning" for Pesach, only searching for chametz. Cleaning is only necessary in places that might come in contact with food on Pesach, and to the extent cleaning is necessary to make searching possible.

Agree?

Yes, but with a toddler and other kids not much older the places that come in contact with food are way more than otherwise.
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

I don't think so. It's true that more places require checking but bedroom closets are not coming in contact with food on Pesach.
If you don't care why would you comment?

Three things:
1-The kitchen takes longer than you think. Leave yourself plenty of time to kasher and cover AFTER the cleaning is all done.
2-Preparing for the seder also takes time.
3-Don't forget that everyone needs to eat on Erev Pesach. Some ideas: vegetable soup, potato knishes, fried hamburgers and yapchik.

1. With the right equipment it's actually quite easy and quick. If you have sufficient funds I can recommend some great equipment. Such as a steamer that has a setting which shoots 210f water who h according to RSZA even works for the chumra of davar gush since it's all ha'eish. Little mess. Quick job. Cost $1150. Also works great for general cleaning. Small and large brush heads
Small MAPP torch for stainless sinks works great, if your comfortable with it. PM for more details about measuring Kash nisraf vs yad soledes.

2. +10000

3.+10000 (salami and eggs)

I find that the actual cleaning out and being ready for the kashering takes a lot of time, not the kashering itself. We also cover everything after it's had boiling water poured over it all... Not getting into halacha here....

So true! Kashering takes a few min but the b4 and after is what takes time and work. If you don't have a separate fridge/freezer -that will also take time to clean and cover.

Not everyone covers, but yes, cleaning fridge will probably take longer than you think

A stand kitchen mixer for cakes/baked goods (you could buy a cheap one like sunbeam dont need a heavy duty one like kitchenaid)

A food processor for kugels

Get new oven racks for pesach. If you self clean your oven and leave the racks in it will become harder to slide in and out of the oven.

On that note many ovens break if you self clean. Ask Rov if there is ways around this (500 for a few hours). According to R' Aaron you can according to R' Moshe you can't If you have a double wall oven and need to self clean definitely do it at separate times (and open a window).

The St moritz oven spray is amazing but be CAREFUL. Can cause burns.

Get a sink insert if you have stainless steel sinks so doesnt scratch the sink

I have a small toaster oven and fridge that I use for chometz once we change over so the kids can eat (will prob change motzie shabbos before yom tov this year) and leave it in dining room

We are a family of 6 (2 adults 4 kids) and we used 7lbs of matzo last year. Last year there was no shabbos chol hamohed but we did have guests/family for a seder and other meals which probably (definitely?) wont happen this year. So I assume around 7lbs again. (Rather have too much then too little!) Sounds like very little

A bottle of wine equals a bit more than all 4 cups. So a bottle of wine a person per night. Depends on the size of your becher

Definitely talk to your Rov regarding how to clean your kitchen (you might be a lot more machmir than you think).
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.
