Is putting the grill to 800 degrees and have a slice of bread get burned in there considered sereifas chometz?
@aygart
Can't see why that wouldn't be called burning.

I've done this before, though I took off the grates so I could get it really over the flame properly. Was quicker that way too.

Started a list of things not to forget in the wiki, but I honestly don’t know them. Wrote the 2 I noticed in this thread. Please add more as you think of them.

In Lakewood for some reason the poskim said one must flush in toilet and not make any fires.

The fire department expressively permitted using a BBQ grill. I hope the poskim were not misinformed..

Either way, im thinking of using a toaster. Just burn the toast to a crisp. Is this sreifa?

In CLE we've been told to use a grill.
Toilet or toaster are b'dieved.

Can I put on the fire of the grill directly or just on top of the grates?

Toilet and toaster are not equal though. Right?

Why not ask your LOR about a covered grill?
They're probably trying to avoid open fires.

Otherwise, toast and flush.

Is this safe? Do I have to make a hole for exhaust somewhere?
If you don't care why would you comment?

Yes, there's a vent, usually under the clock/controls area. Make a hole for that. Also, test the burners first while you have everything accessible.

This is not safe. You need to make slits in the foil under the control panel

Empty your vacuum cleaner before the zman.

Otherwise it's like trying to free up space on your phone and everything is getting saved to your trash folder.

(I am not saying this is halachically required)
