GW app latest update, add a card just by taking a picture of it. Is that a security issue?

So is asking for an ID if the card is signed. They don't care and it seems MC & VS don't either.

If only there was a way to monetize GC using this without fees. Then again, Google is probably too smart to ever allow that.

According to what I read on their site, only way to add money to this is through bank account or if someone sends you $.

"Your Wallet Balance is the only funding source for the Wallet Card."

The last few versions also did.
The update is that it now scans the EXPIRY as well.

Just found this:

"The Google Wallet Card is a debit card that lets you spend your Wallet Balance at millions of MasterCard® locations or withdraw at ATMs. Money is added to your Wallet Balance either by someone sending you money via Wallet or Gmail, or by adding it yourself from a linked bank account or from a credit/ debit card."

There is a $5.80 fee to add $200 from a GC (or any debit or cc card) to wallet balance.

Just pointing out no way to monetize GC for free using the card or GW. Was trying to figure out if there was a way or loophole to add $ to the card from GC for free.

If you are referring to loading from a $200 GC, it won't work. Besides, what's the point if you have to pay?

Dude! You have to pay $5.80 to load from $200 GC so most you can load is $194.20 and if they put a temporary hold of $1.00 on it most you can load is $193.20. They take the fee out of the "debit card."

I added funds using my amex to my own google wallet balance and now it says "Can't add money with Amex
You can't use Amex to add money to your Wallet Balance. You may still use Amex to send money to other people."

Is this permanent?

So I took advantage of this while it was free back in June, and was bored now and wanted to see if the $250 was alive and churnable. Created 3 accounts so far (all with my legit info) and sent 250 from each to my old regular gmail. The first already transferring to bank account, the next 2 are pending.

With the app, creating a new gmail and sending $250 takes about 5 minutes.

Any one else try this?
