Amex Hilton Aspire Upgrade worth?

I have 3 no fee amex Hilton cards, previously from the Citi Hilton cards. I finally received the upgrade offers on all three of my Amex no fee Hilton card but it is to the ASPIRE with massive $450 AF.  I think it is useless since I have to spend $250 credit at some Hilton resort hotels, not any Hilton hotels to get the $250 credit. Most Hiltons are not resorts right? Then airline charges to get the $200 airline credit. Decent bonus offer but hard to offset the huge AF. Not to mention the huge $4k spend which amex monitors like crazy! lol.

I am short on Hilton points but big fee and big spend req are pushing me back.

I wish I had the offer to upgrade to ASCEND.


Any advice and opinion?

I would assume it's the same as the Platinum whatever worked for that and the gold card work for this.

Ive bought 50 dollar gift cards from american airlines in the past, and it worked. Unless something changed since 3 months ago, that works...

So u double dip on 250 credit for the first year, will have 500 in gift cards, which can easily sell for $425.

Then u get 250 resort credit, which can try to sell, have a forum where ppl sell them for 60 percent, although Im not really sure if they sell bec not such a popular forum...

And then u get a free night at any hilton when sign up, as well as on anniversary. Those sell on forum for approx 225 each...

So if ur willing to do a little bit of work, definitely worth it, at the very least for the first year, then downgrade again...

I  recently upgraded to the Aspire from the no fee Hilton cos I waited & never got the upgrade to Ascend.

I think it will be a tough challenge to meet the high $4K spend req in 90 days. Amex doesn't like any GC purchase and may demand tax and shut down even if it is just one time $500 spend.
I got a letter saying my AF will be on or around May 13th.

if you get an amex offer upgrade can you first apply for the card and then click upgrade simultaneously? I am asking this question specifically on the hilton ascend  offer to upgrade to aspire and do not want to be locked out of the aspire bonus for 7 years? if yes do I wait a few days/weeks after signing up before clicking on the upgrade button on the ascend? in general do these upgrade offers disappear after you log out of your account?
