I, along with many others abandoned Firefox for Chrome a few years back. In its time, Firefox won popularity and user share from Internet Explorer by being lighter and faster. As often happens with software, Firefox became progressively bloated and slow, and was eclipsed by the faster and lighter Chrome. From what I hear those roles are again reversed, with Firefox now winning back adherents by resisting feature-bloat and its accompanying resource-hogging, while also maintaining superior privacy bona fides.
