Chill, dude. I do not live in Lakewood. I actually agree with most of what you've written in this thread. Just pointing out that you have to understand the way politicians view the situation if you want to get a realistic idea of what to expect will actually happen in the future. I don't see much changing from the status quo of the past 15 yrs, unless there is an Arab spring in "Palestine", or G-d forbid something else happens that none of us want to think about. The fact of the matter is that the status quo is good for most Israeli politicians, especially right-ce ter right which is the majority of the country, and good for Arab politicians both in pa areas, Gaza, as well as neighboring countries.

I am willing to deal with "facts on the ground". But do you think "creating new facts on the ground" by building more settlements in lands that will definitely be part of the Palestinian state (if it ever comes to it) is normal? The problem is that the Right in Israel is behaving irrational and shooting themselves and us in the foot in the long run.

No, because there wasn't a question of what do you do with a occupied population. The very few people Israel occupied in the Golan, mainly Druze, were thrilled to become Israelis, and that's fine. So why doesn't Israel extend the same to the occupants of the West Bank?

And, the Golan is strategically vital do the defense of the Galil, we cannot afford to have the Syrians and Iranians on the heights. That's the only reason the Americans gave recognition, nothing to do with Zionism.

Kinda makes my blood boil when i see someone advocate wholesale slaughter of Jews because we are in our ancestral home before whatever Moshiach they are waiting for hasn't arrived. My family has been serving in the IDF since the establishment of the State. Grandfathers, uncles, cousins. My uncle lost a leg in 73. Personally I had educational (non yeshiva) and then familial exemptions.  And we are politically active (Shlomei Emunim, I'm a Deutsch on one side). And we have built, and continue to build, over 1,000 homes in Israel. We may be Chareidy, but are not parasites. And I put forth a solution. A fair and equal state for all. If it means 50-60 Arab MK's, so be it. We need a long term solution, not a bunch of patches. And why is Rechavia any less Israel than a settlement?!
