Best Buget phone
« on: March 30, 2019, 12:58:04 PM »
Looking for advice from the knowledgeable DDFers, whats the best budget android phone that can be filtered.

I was looking at the OnePlus range, maybe something like the 6 or 6T (if the upgrade is worth it).

I've heard of the Pocophone by Xiaomi, but as I spoke to TAG, there is no way of filtering Xiaomi phones without locking down half of the phone!

Any sugggestions?

Moto G6
I had the g4 with amazon offers and I feel like it fought with the filter and messed it up. Friends have the g6 without offers and it works great.
I'm not who you think I am.

Ever asked that very question to tag and see what they said? If anyone, tag would know which phones are the easiest and best filtered.

I asked TAG, they just tell me that all phones work etc. but the flagships work best.

I just dont wanna spend crazy amounts on a flagship phone, cuz you anyway need to replace them after few yrs....

The offers can easily be taken care of.. about 30 seconds of googling will give you a few options..

But of course it's even easier with the G6 that doesn't have them...

I got a Moto G6 now and it seems to be a very good budget phone.

Indeed.
At the time I bought my g5 it wasn't worth the extra $40 that a simple app from the play store takes care of..
Besides chatting with Amazon for 5 minutes with a random excuse will probably get them to take away the special offers for free.. (that's what I did anyway)

What are the main practical differences between a budget phone and a flagship phone?

Other than cost, obviously. And not regarding technical (processor, etc.) differences, but practical differences for the user.

what is the best phone to have for family use- i.e. my son can take it with him to call us to pick him up-

Camera, NFC (used for mobile wallets), possibly battery life, speed of updates.

Are you looking for a phone or a plan?
If your looking for a plan look into Tello, freedom pop or someone mentioned in a diff thread beast mobile

Well the technical differences make the end user experience better. So obviously a better processor will make the phone be much quicker at loading apps. Better camera and screen also.

What other differences do you mean?

Poco phone has poor battery life and Gorilla glass 3 screen. Relatively easy to break
