Still in that situation with my old business old card. Oh, and they had the nerve to give my personal platinum card a 4K limit. Oh and for my BBP, I'm not really able to go above the 3K credit limit (despite the card being sold as having the ability to go way beyond limit, like double the CL).
I got similar, they limited it to the CL, got a letter last week.

Closed without going through FR first?

Closed without FR. She got her 25k ED bonus removed on 9/12 even though it was done with all organic spend. She asked them to reconsider that decision and I guess they responded with shutting down all her accounts?

She used to MS years ago but stopped in 2016 and it's been organic spend since then. Do you think they looked that far back and decided to just close everything?

I doubt they will go back years ago for MS. But with Amex these days, could be. I really do not understand them anymore, if they give a credit limit, and all bills are paid on time, never late , plus long history etc ?

Customer since 2011 and never missed payment, always paid on time. We are very confused why they closed all her accounts. Will try and call tonight.

Good luck, it is really irritating, I started thinking they can close anyone , anytime unexpectedly.

She called and they kept hinting that it was related to opening and closing too many accounts. Don't see how 2 plats and a gold in Dec 2018 and a ED in June 2019 is churning since they're all still open but whatever.

Curious to see if the recent account closures result in a lifetime ban or a ban for x amount of years.

Yeah wondering if opening too many accounts results in a different kind of ban compared to people who swiped at the merchants running a scam/ponzi scheme.

Any chance of getting pro-rated AF refunds when Amex closes all your accounts?

Based upon prior reports I would say no.

Really that is so weird because I complained to the CFPB and I did not get any prorated refunds on almost $1,800 of annual fees, Amex justified themselves according to their terms and conditions..

Any chance in getting amex to reinstate my account if i complain to cfpb?

I never really got a detailed reason why my account was closed other then the standard email "identified as not being used for the intended purpose".

I doubt it. They are allowed to chose who they want to do business with. It is frustrating, and can happen to anyone, and they never give a clear reason or explanation.

Thanks. I only ask bc I see they have an option when filing a complaint for credit cards that were closed by a company. I would assume they would only have that option if it actually helped to get it re-opened.
