I've found that lounge agents will almost always put me in exit rows or extra legroom seats without a problem.
Used to work like a charm in the Admirals Club.
Used to get upgraded to MCE on international flights savings of hundreds of $$.
Recently it's been getting very difficult especially on a Basic Economy ticket.

Booked a seat on JetBlue they "upgraded" me to the exit row aisle. Unfortunately the gentlemen sitting in the middle was not Large he was super sized large with a BO that could kill a Rhino. My whole body was in the aisle and this was not going to work for me. (It was hot and he was sweaty and wearing very short sleeves). Then the Jewish brain clicked into hyper-drive.....When they came to ask if we were willing to help in case of an emergency, I said absolutely not!! Needless to say some other gentlemen who did not see how I was sitting jumped at the offer to get the exit row......The look he gave me on the way out was priceless..

Great thinking there. Always wondered who would say no to them.

I'll start.
I was flying BA JFK to LHR. I wanted to get the front row seats so i told them I sprained my ankle,  and they gave me the front row.
When I was checking in they asked me if I needed a wheel chair, I told them I don't need one now but when I land I will take one. I totally forgot about it.

When I got off the plane there was a wheel chair waiting for me. I went in.

There was a huge customs line, they took me to the side and the agent just stamped my passport and let me right through.
After the attendant brought me to baggage claim, i picked up my suitcase said thank you, gave him a tip and walked away.

let's please differentiate between clearly unethical/stealing (using fake status to go into lounge aka stealing food), faking spraining angle to get a better seat (unethical/stealing) and 'travel hack'.

Make stuff happen.

Saver Award booked during Weather Waiver and moved to revenue on the actual date I wanted that had no Award availability.
Fair warning - Any PMs sent in response to forum posts are fair game for ridicule in public.

Was flying MAN-LHR-JFK on miles in Y, when I got to LHR I went over to the AA desk and I convinced them to open up business class with miles and we canceled and booked a new ticket.

Showed up late to DL award domestic flight, had wine bottles wrapped in sram rap. DL instructed that it might not make it onto the plane. The system let them put it thru. Obviously was delayed, TSA opened it up and as a result baggage wasn't there upon arrival. Went to DL baggage claim desk , they said theyll bring it to me the following day and a 3hr drive. Upon requesting a kit she told me the system reads they shouldn't even dilever it to me because I checked so late, I said thank you and ran out.

A week later I made a claim with DL for delayed luggage and received somewhere around 800 on a 34k award.
Always praying for delayed baggage.

Good for you, I think I'm going to start bringing wine on my flights.

May as well get that checked free on Alaskan while flying from the West coast....

Side point, do you think they actually check if there is wine in the wine box? Hard alcohol may be a great market advantage if brought from the West coast!

Flew back from TLV to NY had 2 bottles of liquor in the check-in luggage, luggage was overweight took out the 2 bottles and placed them in a bag I had with dirty laundry, wrapped the 2 bottles in a towel placed it in the bottom of the bag dirty laundry on top of that .don't remember the exact details how it went by security, but bordered the plane with it and got home with it!!

Youre allowed t bring liquid through security in TLV. I guess your hack was by the manual check when boarding the plane.

Way back in the day...

I was flying with my infant, and my bags were overweight.  My plan had been to put on an innocent face (if weak li'l me can lift it, how can it be over 70 lbs?) and hope for the best.

The check in agent had an injured hand, so she called someone else over to put my bags on the scale while she dealt with the paperwork.  When he lifted the first bag, he nearly fell over.

"lady, you can't bring such a heavy bag!" (110 lbs)

gate agent - flashing my baby's passport (my son was with my mother, not near me at all) "oh, but look how cute her baby is!"

The other agent agreed, and they let it go!

You must have had an idea of how overweight it was!

What was your plan if things didn’t work out?
