I'm going to sign this, but honestly, it's the Israeli government that needs to be petitioned, they abandoned JP decades ago and haven't looked back.

Sounds like its the Pollard "clan" who is calling for its deletion, not Pollard himself. (And, is he kept in solitary all day, every day?)

It seems like they feel that this petition has zero chance of successfully freeing him (do you disagree?) and instead, by signing, people feel like they did their part and won't pressure the politicians directly

I don't thimk the people who (can) influence politicians are the same people who sign petitions.
