If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

I wouldn't reccomend to anyone putting in there effort to get a BOC, 99% off the packages are real crap.

It worked out pretty well for us.
There was an excitement factor as my kids anxiously awaited getting the box.
There was entertainment when we opened the box and they got to pick their prizes.

Among the items which had real value for our family were"
1. glow in the dark magic markers
2. bag of fancy napkins suitable for shabbos/yt meal
3. three different costumes, two of which were immediately claimed - a rainbow wig and a foam top hat
4. set of 20 kids hangers
5. hard plastic tumbler cup with straw
6. Shopkins set
7. HDMI cable
8. Green Bay Packers shirt
9. set of 99 hair bands
10. large fabric/recyclable shopping bag

Plus other things which had lesser or no value to us.

I would say that it was worth the $10.

I agree it can be worth the $10. But having to hunt for stuff worth $10 for $10 that's totally not worth it.

I really think it depends on your stage of life. If you have the bracha of pre-teen/teen children, the entertainment value is absolutely worth it. Its $10. You practically spend that per kid if you were taking them ice skating and more than that if you take them to the movies.

Besides, when there are 20 things in the box, its not hard to find a bunch of items which you can actually use and which you would buy in a 99c and up store if your kids asked you to.

Plus, if you look at the posts on Woot from other people who got BOCs, you see that there are some really good items in some BOCs.
