Title a little misleading. This was a plain old violent robbery/home invasion. Not a terror attack.

Last night, a gang of violent robbers attacked the Shluchim in Kenya, Rabbi Shmuel and Chaya Notik. Baruch Hashem the family is recuperating from their injuries, but the thugs made away with damage valuing over $60,000.

I spent 3 weeks with the Jewish community in Kenya before Chabad arrived. Unfortunately, this attack is par for the course for Nairobi. Every house we visited had gates and armed guards. The more security there was, the less safe we felt. One Israeli even told us he was happy there were no direct flights to Israel because of the corruption of the airport authority/security at NBO. We did not witness or hear about anything resembling anti-semitism. More that westerners have a target on their backs and on their property. Wishing the Notiks a refuah shlayma.
