Credit Cards Worth More Than Their AF
« on: April 29, 2019, 04:30:57 PM »
Trying to think of cards that are worth their AF w/o too much effort. Not s/t like the Marriott Amex where for 95 dollars you get a night worth about 150, but ones that provide significant benefits w/o too much effort.
Ones that come to mind:
Chase Ink- 5x on office
CSR- 1.5x value on UR and 300 dollar TC
Jet Blue- 10% of points back, 5k points on anniversary (AF can usually be cut in half by retention), 50k to mosaic
Hilton Aspire- 250 dollar TC, 250 dollar resort credit, 1 free night, Diamond status
Any others?

No AF doesn't necessarily give good value. A lot of cards can more or less negate the AF, but few easily give more.
Does ihg count?
That's a good one too. Was much better before the devaluation.

Many of these are subjective, depends how much you spend on the card. There should be separate lists for cards that automatically pay for themselves, like the hotel free nights with significant value, and for the ones like ink, csr, etc that can provide outsized value if you spend enough

This is what I meant.
B6 and Aspire are not subjective. CSR is worth it for almost anyone. Ink is subjective but it's too easy, even if you're just buying Amazon GC.

The obvious card is the City National Bank Chrystal. Add 2 AU and the card is profitable even after the annual fee.
