Suggestions please? Trouble securing Citi AA business card
« on: September 24, 2011, 11:48:30 PM »
Hi, Looking for a suggestion regarding opening business card accounts.
I read somewhere in this forum that opening a business card is not difficult. Apply with a business name such as "Chaim's Tutoring Service" and state that you're a sole proprietorship.  I did exactly that when applying for a City AA business card
They are holding up my app pending because they cannot verify my business address.  Citi wants a utility bill or bank statement with the name of my business.
How should I deal with this?  I want to hear your idea.

Amex didn't make me jump through these hoops. I wonder if Chase would.

Too late, I saw on FT that the business name should be one's own name. Would have made proving the address a whole lot easier.

Called them again to ask for a list of docs, they won't email the list.

Rep asked for a "Certificate of Sole Proprietorship". Anyone else ever need to do this????

I'm being contacted via email by a couple other DD members who say they have the same problem. (Why aren't they posting?)

Any ideas about proof of business address?

Yeah.... that isn't quite the suggestion I was hoping for... but - all the same - I appreciate the response.
