India Operations Update and Travel Waiver
Due to the continued restriction of Pakistani airspace, we are extending the suspension of our services from New York/Newark to Mumbai and Delhi. Both of these routes will be suspended until eastbound departures resume on Oct. 26, 2019.
We continue to explore all our options and remain in close contact with relevant government authorities in order to provide our customers and crew members with the most efficient travel experience under these circumstances.
Agency PNR Handling
We encourage agencies to act now: Contact customers and refund tickets.
The flights in availability are zeroed out. While PNR segments may still show HK (holding confirmed), the flights are canceled. On July 20, we will run a schedule change and send cancel messages to PNRs with affected flights.
In the meantime, travel agents can apply the travel waiver to refund the tickets, even if the PNR segment still shows HK.
Rest assured, agencies will not receive a debit memo for refunding tickets for applicable flights canceled during this suspension when following the 7JCQ1 waiver.
Travel Waiver for Refunds
Cities and Dates
Customers traveling to, from or through the following airports are permitted a full refund of their unused ticket.
Delhi, IN (DEL)
Mumbai, IN (BOM)
Original ticketed travel dates: June 21 - October 26, 2019
Applies to tickets issued by July 14, 2019
Waiver Code for Refunds
Travel agents should self-serve and refund using waiver code 7JCQ1 in the OSI field (ARC reporting agencies) or ticket designator box (BSP reporting agencies).
Additional Information
While we have agreements with other carriers through certain cities/dates, space between the U.S. and India is extremely limited and we do not expect additional other airline availability to open up.
We encourage agencies to contact the customer and refund these tickets.
Protection agreements are on the United Jetstream Market and Route Changes page and should be reviewed each time you work on an applicable PNR.
