I use Nomatic, it's amazing.
After about 4 years of heavy use my 1st generation Nomatic Backpack zipper tore.

I applied for a warranty and they are sending me a brand new replacement!

Huge kudos to Nomatic. Couldn't be happier with their products.

I use Black Diamond.

https://www.blackdiamondequipment.com

I do not find my model on the site.

I use the same for a city trip and hiking, mountaineering, etc.

Also perfect for crazy flying, as besides the big volume, it also "sticks" to your body, and so heavier weight is carried effortless, and you can as close to running as possible, in comparison with other backpacks.

For longer and family trips I use a regular trolley.

Hey everyone reviving this thread,

I've noticed some great pricing on Nomatic for black friday, and I'm considering a Nomatic Travel Backpack.

I'm curious if anyone has experience with the https://www.nomatic.com/products/navigator-travel-backpack-32l backpack.

Supposedly, it has updates over the original https://www.nomatic.com/collections/travel-bags/products/nomatic-travel-bag 40L Travel Bag. Here are some points I've gathered:

Heavier: By 1 lb over the 40L
Better Materials: Upgraded materials for enhanced durability.
Expandable Capacity: Starts smaller but expands by 9L (up to 41L) with a wrap-around zipper, which is great when you don't need the full capacity all the time.
Improved Comfort: Better straps and back cushions for more comfortable carrying.
Aesthetic Appeal: updated aesthetics
Backstrap Placement: It has the backstrap on the back for attaching to a rolling suitcase, unlike the 40L Travel Bag where it's on the front—which seems a bit odd to me.

If you've used the Navigator Travel Backpack 32L, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Specifically:

Is the extra weight noticeable during travel?
Do the improvements make a significant difference compared to the 40L Travel Bag?
Any other pros or cons you've experienced?
Thanks in advance!

(price aside - as i have a insane 35% off the BF price via expertvoice)

What does the total come up to?
207.99 for the Navigator 32L
and 141.36 for the 40L
and it looks like one code can work for multiple bags - not limited to just one. shipping is free. works on all items - no limit.

Is the BF pricing for Nomatic as good as it gets?

Many times there are better sales at other times of the year, I am not familiar with Nomatic though.

Coupled with freedom and Paypal checkout for 5% and any other cashback you may get - it's pretty up there! For what its worth a quick search didn't show anything lower since last December.

I ordered - and have a trip to Israel coming up - so will be able to review it very soon.

I was looking at other high end bags - like this: https://www.sfbags.com/collections/laptop-backpacks/products/pro-executive-laptop-backpack
and some other serious ones - but while they all had some pro's they all seemed to lack the intuitive design of nomatic. (and none had the kind of sale nomatic is having.)

Ever since i replaced my 10yr old trusty SwissGear indestructable bag which eventually started fraying.
---

I should add - that my backpack strategy is broken into 2 - which helps dictate what i need in a bag.
I don't use a PC - only a laptop - and so i lug my laptop to and from work.
So i have a backpack for day to day - and a backpack specifically for travel.
--
I recently used my Amex Business card to replace my everyday backpack and took advantage of my Dell.com credit to get this one:  https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-ecoloop-premier-slim-backpack-14-16/apd/460-bdwy/laptop-bags-and-cases

It just arrived, so I haven't had a chance to review it yet, but the online reviews are positive.
Next week, I have a red-eye flight from LAX to MCO for a drone conference, and I'll be returning the same day. This will give me the opportunity to stress test it for an ultra-light, one-day journey.
If you attend a lot of conferences and work on the go—even during quick one-day overnights—and need to carry your bag with you throughout the day, having a really comfortable and lightweight backpack is critical. Since this was essentially risk-free courtesy of Dell/Amex, I'll see if it's practical enough and report back.
(they do make a slightly bigger one - but i am hopeful the smaller will suffice and be less painful due to smaller size for daily use)

But lugging a full size backpack on a short trip like that would be an actual pain.
