Paying for seats
« on: May 13, 2019, 10:45:40 AM »
What do people do when it come to paying for a seat selection when flying. Traveling to Miami with the wife and don’t feel like spending $120 to select a seat. Highway robbery.

Don’t know if this has been discussed before, although I imagine it has and there is already a thread in this but I was unable to find anything. I apologize in advance if there is already a thread and would appreciate if anyone can direct me there.

AA. It’s $120 for both seats. That’s like 30% of the ticket. I saw somewhere that if you check in 24jta b4 flight online then 9 out of 10 you will sit together with companion. Problem is I plan on leaving Sunday morning...

They offer seats for free, they may all be taken already. Or you booked BE (not sure if you can even pay then).

Using google flights. It’s free if you upgrade your tickets for $120....

If you ask at the gate they can try to put you together, but if the flight is fully booked they may not be able to.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

That means you’re looking at basic economy that only allows choosing seats for a 9$ fee 48 hours before the flight, or they give you free seats at check in. They usually put you together if the seats are available.
60$ is to upgrade to a regular economy ticket that allows you to choose free seats.
