Has anyone done it? Trying to map it out. Thinking of say 15 day 8 segments but might need more / longer.

Honestly, I don't see the appeal of going E-W though the US. It strikes me as pretty boring. I would much sooner go N-S along either coast.

It would be zephyr, starlight and empire builder. Staying west. thing is we'd have to double over say sf to Denver and back and Seattle to glaciar national park and back.

Anything to see in Spokane ? Reno is a pass unless we can get to Tahoe?

I toyed with it back in the Chase transfer days and before they devalued the private cabins.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Could also do SEA-LA and then LA to Flagstaff.

Each had to be separate.
I did LA to Seattle, then Seattle to VAC the next day - before the deval. It was amazing! I wanted to continue from Seattle to Glacier, but the Mrs. would have none of that. We took a 1 year old, but there's space to really walk around, so you don't get such a cramped feeling like on a plane.

How long was the LA-Seattle segment, was it overnight?

Around 38 hours, so one night. Left Sunday morning, and arrived Monday night.
