Adding to my original questions:

Why haven't they added more transfer partners? Qantas, TK, Aegean, etc. (All those that are not locked in to single banks.)

I would add Hyatt, AA, Alaska, and United, if they weren't locked in.

Why don't they allow transfers to spouses' MR account. Capital one allows to any account, and Chase allows to spouses.

The answer to almost all these "why don't you" or "why do you" questions is simple. To make/save more money. I'm sure if asked, they'd come up with some kind fluffy  response why its better for all of us. Unless you all mean to ask "perhaps you should/ shouldn't etc." I don't think many of the ideas mentioned above will gain much traction with the possible exceptions of gaining more insight into the f.r. system, and maybe showing that people have more interest in a better reward system, for example more xfer partners. They aren't going to bring back SPG 3x just because Dan asks.

Dan is indicative of the savvy consumer that they may want to target.

They know everyone wants it, and killed it for a reason. If it seems like they are losing enough money because of it, they will probably put it back. I can't see how asking will help. I'd love to be wrong on this one, don't get me wrong.

I recently called in for retention purposes nothing came up so they transferred me to some account specialist. He had alot of insight into how their program works and he asked many questions on my spending habits. I used to spend a few 100k a month on the spg card and now it's down to a particular ZERO [100K this year for bonus] he specifically told me they are aware of the negative impact of the 2 vs 3 points per dollar earning ratio. He stated they see a tremendous difference in spending from pre  merger. Not sure if stuff would change but making noise around the edges can only help.

If they are aware of how horribly incompetent their Amex Online Travel call center agents are? It would seem they aren't cheap, being all USA based, so there is no reason for the ineptitude.
