I would want to download one of these apps myself, but being that I save my credit card information as well as my bank information in my contacts, don't feel safe allowing apps to access on my contacts and sharing it worldwide.

Is this actually a real worry? Can this really compromise your CC info?

You may obviously disagree... But here's my reasoning:

• It's not disturbing that a cellphone number is public info, it used to be that a cellphone is private and you only give it to close people, nowadays it's like/more than a home phone, and home phone info is in the directory
• True Caller is the same (or more) "Public" than DDF, so if it's there why not here (and in the meantime save some more people info from going public when the person asking would’ve logged in...)

You also included the guy's email. And to use true caller I need to have a number to start off with.

I’m not sure where they’re getting the data, but I suspect it’s from callerID, aggregation of public records or other internet screen scraping, or from cell carrier databases (possibly leaks). I don’t think it’s crowdsourced.
