I wonder what they call paying a CC with cash, money laundering?  :)
That is a big red flag as well as paying cc with third party checks.

My accounts were closed even though Chase owed me money on every account, from $100 to $8,000!

Re: They owed YOU money?! Now we know what the issue was.

That's because I overpay on each payment. I don't like owing anyone anything. So if I charge $4,300 I will transfer $5,000 as payment. I previously had transferred $50,000 thinking I would buy $50,000 of gold but then changed mind and only bought $39,000!

+10000000 This exact behavior has been discussed many times as being a cause of shutdowns.

Prepaying is a red flag, and iirc buying gold had been discussed upthread as being a flag as well.

So you have 2 reasons for the shutdown already.

You are cycling your credit line, you are overpaying and prepaying. How could you not get shutdown?

Paying up what you owe before the statement closes is an issue? (Wasn’t maxed out on my credit still had plenty of room)

You can pay a Chase CC at an atm? Never heard of that. Either way, I would still avoid it.

To summarize, no prepaying/overpaying (which is sort of like cycling).
No cycling the credit line.
No paying off CC in cash
No paying with a third party check.
Also no money orders?
IOW, just pay from a bank account.

Any other way?  I don't want to mix banks and it seems best (from posts here) not to have a Chase account.
