Thanks Dan. Maybe thats what it is, but why would do they do something so severe? Its not like it was a chronic problem. It was only twice in however many years I had the account. And why close all but 1 account if only 1 account had the issue?

Anything I can do right now? Is anyone ever successful in getting them to undo this?

Even once is a no-no. Not surprised at all that it was shut down after it happened twice.

How bad? Is there no shot of getting the to re-open those accounts?

I've been with them for over a decade and have had minimal issues in 10+ years and never missed any payment ever. Might have gotta a couple in after the due date but never ever had a payment be later than lets say 2-3 days.

sorry i wasn't clear what i meant is that i can see that it does make sense to suspect that if someone paid a chase personal credit card from a non chase business account it wouldn't cause a problem but if he paid from a chase business account it would.

I had a long conversation with a branch manager on Friday, he clarified that chase’s compliance dept team is growing by the day. They were hit with some major lawsuits including the Bernie madeoff case and it cost them billions of dollars in legal fees. They are strongly enforcing anti-money-laundering activity.

The compliance department does not share with the bankers the reason for shutting down accounts. This is all their own research that they are conducting in-house to try to connect the dots and figure out the triggers.

One of the triggers they figured out after researching multiple shutdowns is paying a Chase personal credit card from a Chase business account which the compliance department considers commingling funds. It’s the same thing that Chase does not allow for a business check to be deposited into a personal account. Chase wants personal and business to be separated totally to prevent money laundering.

You can have your banker send an email to the compliance dept to reconsider.

I've had Chase reject an auto-payment from a business account from another bank (it was for the BA card) so don't assume that paying from another bank won't trigger anything. I run an actual high spending business and pick certain cards to put business only expenses on because I want to meet minimums or maximize points earnings. I then just paid in branch with a business check and that was fine. It was annoying to not have it on auto-pay but worth it for this particular card. Amex doesn't have this issue as I use the Hilton Aspire card the same way, for business only, as we spend a lot at Hiltons, and Amex accepts the auto-pays just fine.

There was no business name on the card. These specific cards are personal cards. If you want to the Chase BA bonus, or the 14ppd at Hiltons offered by the Aspire card, as I understand it, it has to be on a personal card.

I have a few personal credit cards with chase and a business cc as well. They shutdown my personal cards but kept my business card open. Is my miles safe if I Transfer it to my business card even thought all my cards are under one ur profile? Or should I transfer all my points to an airline?

Still can't believe even today that I was shut down AFTER first calling up Chase and telling agent what exactly I was going to do step by step! Guess the "recorded line" only works if it helps them, not if it helps you! LOL

I have been banned several times and currently have one of their cards so don't give up hope.
Unlike most here who never know why they were banned I know exactly why.
